Raw soup or knuckle bones are nature’s way of keeping your dog’s teeth and gums healthy. They don’t splinter like chicken or pork bones, which should NEVER be given to your pet, as they can become lodged in their throat. The big, meaty bones are safe and if your dogs are like mine, they will enjoy gnawing on them for hours on end. It’s the best dental chew that you can buy. Get them fresh from the butcher or at the grocery store.

There is quite a bit of talk recently about Bully Sticks and similar animals parts and the benefits to dogs. Do you recommend allowing dogs to enjoy these animal products?
I always prefer to know what the sources of the products are, that I’m giving to my dogs. If I buy my soup bones or knuckle bones at my local butcher or health food store, then I can be assured of good quality, without added chemicals, preservatives, and flavor enhancers (such as smoking, or bar-b-que). I think that it’s a safer route to use human-grade resources, than to necessarily trust a product that may have gone through a lot of processing and come from foreign countries. xox
